FERTILITY FOODS: BERRY SMOOTHIE BOWL

I believe breakfast really is the most important meal of the day as it sets you up for the day ahead. Skipping breakfast or eating something processed and sugary can make us feel lethargic, bloated and craving sugar later in the day. Ahealthy breakfast however can make you feel well nourished, energised and on top of your goals. I always prioritise breakfast but some mornings when there is not very much in the fridge or your rushing out to work it can be difficult to prioritise our health. This berry smoothie bowl is perfect as most of the ingredients are store cup board essentials or in your freezer, and it takes a few minutes to whizz in the blender.

It is low carb and the mixed berries pack in the antioxidants and anti-inflammatory phytonutrients, both of which are proven to improve fertility for both men and women. Berries are also rich in vitamin C and folate which are incredibly important for our health when trying to conceive. Vitamin C helps keep our immune systems strong whilst folate supports healthy fetal growth in early pregnancy post conception. Making this breakfast a perfect option for both you and your partner when trying to conceive as well as in pregnancy.

The toppings are key to giving this smoothie bowl an extra boost of fertility goodness. I have used chia seeds - a rich plant based source of calcium and protein, goji berries linked to regulating blood sugar levels & their anti-aging benefits, brazil nuts for selenium and sunflower & pumpkin seeds as a source of iron, vitamin E and zinc which are potent fertility nutrients.

Rich in the following fertility nutrients:
